Specs:
Ryzen 1400
Radeon 580 4gb
1x8Gb DDR4 2400
1TB HDD

While playing in heavy team fights, so a lot of projectiles, my fps goes down to ~40 and cpu usage goes to 100%, this is on low graphics. My cpu is fine with other games like PUBG. I would assume its because i have single channel ram as other people with the same specs can run the game fine.

I've seen other threads about this but most people have low end cpu's. Or is the Ryzen 1400 not strong enough for overwatch?

Thank You

Your 100% utilization is telling if the number is correct.
I can think of two things:

1. ryzen depends on fast ram. Running single channel effectively runs your ram at half the advertised speed.
Then, also, faster than 2400 could help. If you want to fix the ram situation, consider buying a 2 x 4gb ram kit of faster speed.
Check carefully that the ram is supported. ryzen is picky.
One place to check is your motherboards web site.
Look for the ram QVL list. It lists all of the ram kits that have been tested with that particular motherboard.
Sometimes the QVL list is not updated after the motherboard is released.
For more current info, go to a ram vendor's web site and access their ram selection configurator.

So people with same specs can game better than you in spite of them having single channel ram?

For a Ryzen system, you should ideally have DDR4-3200MHz rams in dual channel. On another note, you may want to see if the system resource usage is abnormally high when at idle(no games/apps loaded). You should be fine for Overwatch as PUBG isn't optimized and yet you're able to game on it(or so you've said above).

some kind of viruses or malwares maybe? download malwarebytes to scan your pc, have you checked what other application or software that uses the cpu a lot when you were playing games? because its weird that cpu is good enough but still have 100% load like it is not capable to run it

Enter your motherboard, and you will get a list of compatible ram kits.

2. Have you overclocked your processor?
At stock, you will run at 3.2. How well you can oc is determined by the quality of your particular chip.
The better chips have mostly been used in higher spec parts, but you should be able to get to the 3.7range.

Alright thanks, I have not overclocked my processor and I will try both these things.
