New PC build wont start

Hi everyone,
We have just completed our first build and when turning power on the fans start turning, LED's light up for one second and then turn off for a few seconds before we are able to repeat the process.
If we unplug the CPU power plug then we can get the power to stay on. We have now removed the Mobo onto a box with only the CPU, Liquid cooler & fans & one stick of RAM fitted. The same fault happens.
We have rechecked all our connections & checked for any damaged pins etc. - All ok. We have taken out the CPU just to double check. All looks good with a good layer of thermal paste. We have removed & refitted the silver battery to reset. All parts are new.
Spec: NZXT Case, MSI H270 Mobo, Zotac GTX1060 Geforce Graphics Card, Coolermaster Masterwatt 650 power supply, Corsair H80i V2 Liquid Cooler, Intel Core I7 8700 CPU, Ballistix Sport 16GB DDR4,
Toshiba 2TB Hard Drive, Crucial 500GB SSD Drive, Windows 10.
We have been trying to resolve this issue for over a week now so would appreciate your help.
Many thanks, chris

Solution
The H270 boards do not work with the 8700 processor you need one of the 3xx BOARDS.
H270 boards only work with 6xxx and 7xxx processors.

Yes, it would be compatible. 3xx and 2xx series motherboards are almost same specs wise, save for build for different CPU.
