Computer shutting down randomly during game after installing new graphics card

I upgraded my graphics card from GTX 980 TI to GTX 1080 and now when I play Far Cry 5 my computer will randomly shut down within the first couple minutes before I can even get out of the menus and into the game and then it turns itself back on. This happened one time about a week ago, but when I turned it back on I could play the game for hours without a problem so I ignored it. Now tonight it happened again. When I installed the card, I did not do a clean install of the drivers; instead I had just chosen the clean install option on Geforce Experience when I got the new drivers. Just now I used DDU to do a proper clean install of the drivers and the problem happened again. On DDU I had chosen the first option Clean and Restart, but there is a Clean and Shutdown option it says for installing a new card, should I do it again but using that option? Is there really a difference? Or is something else wrong here?

Overheating, faulty component, insufficient power are causes.

Check that nothing is overheating. Check all cables to ensure they are properly plugged in. Try a different PCI-E slot to rule out that as well.

After that, it's probably either the PSU or GPU. I've read that the EVGA B1 PSUs aren't that great and don't have good voltage regulation.

I use MSI Afterburner to watch the GPU temp and since I can play games for hours without it overheating I don't believe that is the problem and everything is fully plugged in. I am starting to think that this problem is actually being caused by Far Cry 5 itself. All 3 times that it shutdown were from opening Far Cry 5 first thing after turning on my comp going into Arcade mode and downloading a map, then it would shutdown at some point during the map download. I don't know if that is just a coincidence, but I'm gonna hold off further testing until it actually happens again somewhere else cause between WoW, Hearthstone, PUBG, and just playing Far Cry 5 single player I've had no problems playing all day.
