Not sure this should be in boot category or keyboard?

So today I assembled a new pc, motherboard is msi krait z370, keyboard is corsair strafe rgb silent.

I prepared myself with only a usb key with windows and nothing else (location reasons).

Everything assembled, first boot, everything detected (led troubleshoot: gpu, ddr, cpu...), but no way to access boot or anything. I then notice that the led on the keyboard do not seem to work.

Troubleshooting:
keyboard works when connected to another computer
usb in new computer work, tested with mouse, rgb lights up

Since my windows boot is on a usb I need to modify boot setup to uefi etc ? But without keyboard there is no way. How weird for ?$100 keyboard..?

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:

You can try and hook the keyboard up to the USB 2.0 under the PS/2 connector or break out a generic USB keyboard.

That is a good reason to keep a $5 or super old free PS/2 keyboard in your toolkit.
Most motherboards still have a PS/2 mouse and keyboard port.
Many USB keyboards are not recognized until Windows starts.

Apologies, here are complete system specs:
cpu i7 8700
MB: msi krait z370
Ram: DDR4 2400 8x2 corsair vengeance
hdd: western black 1tb
GPU: gtx 1060 6gb gigabyte
Chassis: antec p8

I checked a bit online:
Try usb 1 and 2: done
Try ps2 connector: no adapter available atm.
Clear cmos: The motherboard is brand new but why not? may try later.
Try generic usb keyboard: will try tomorrow.

"Many USB keyboards are not recognized until Windows starts"

I had no idea, I hope this is the reason, thanks!
