I don't have a system restore point to go back to a good known good configuration and any ideas on how to approach this in resolving would help.

Make sure you have the latest motherboard drivers, any other drivers, check the BIOS revision, are you overclocking any parts? What are your parts? Can we get a bit more info here?

I have all windows updates installed, BIOS is up to date. Not overclocking any parts. Intel graphics card, believe latest motherboard drivers installed.

But is there anyway to check if i have the latest drivers installed?

The system was good till last week, until i installed some USB modem drivers. Don't believe these drivers are in conflict though as i have not plugged in the modem and don't think those drivers are loaded. Is there anyway i can identify and uninstall those.

If it was working fine before you installed the drivers, then its those drivers causing the issue. Your going to have to uninstall the drivers or restore the system to a point before you installed them. What are you doing when the BSOD occur? Is it a specific program or game causing it or is it just completely random?
