Need advice on purchasing another cell phone with certain qualities (disclaimer: I DO NOT have much knowledge of cell phones and services) I have an older dumb qwerty phone with Verizon right now. We are moving across the country and would like another qwerty, non smart, style phone that can also be used as a hotspot for my pc and/or laptop. I saw Blackberry's, but don't know if that is an option?? Simply, I need something for calling/texting, going online for simple searching (no video streaming needed), and email checking, taking/sending photos (does not need to be the highest quality), and use it as my internet connection for a laptop (haven't bought that yet) and/or my pc when we get to our new home. It would be nice if I can add it to my Verizon plan, but that is not the priority.

I tried an ipad, and don't really care for computing that way (I like using a keyboard). I like using a laptop or pc, but need it to have internet some times.

Why don't you just ask if your provider has a mifi device plan I know verizon has a "jetpack" mifi device not sure how much their plans cost but thats the first step. However depending on your phone it should be able to act as a hot spot again check with your cell phone provider.
