[SOLVED] I've formatted a Mac hard drive and need to recover it

By accident I formatted my external hard drive on my Mac and also used the secure trade option (the weakest option). Is there any way to recover my files?

I first deleted the files and then formatted the drive. I know... super stupid that I haven't really checked the drive and selected the wrong external drive.... Would highly appreciate if someone has an idea!

If your external hard drive has been securely wiped then there are fewer chances of recovery. The existing data blocks are overwritten and this makes the data recovery process impossible. However, you may try the free version of data recovery software like Stellar Phoenix Mac Data Recovery or Data Rescue to check if your files are still recoverable or not.
