Hello,
So my system right now is;
i5 6500
EVGA 1060 3GB
16GB of DDR4 2133MHz
600W Corsair Powersupply.

What can I upgrade to help my fps while streaming, I encode with the NVENC, but games like Overwatch drop below 60fps for me when streaming. I've followed multiple tutorials and I've got the best OBS settings for my system and it still drops.

Any help will be appreciated!

You can't run an 8700k on the motherboard as Coffee Lake CPUs require a 300-series motherboard, no BIOS upgrades available. An i7 upgrade would be a 6700/k or a 7700/k, the latter after updating the BIOS.

I like Ryzen rigs for streaming, but given that you already have a motherboard that can run a 6700/7700 and you already have DDR4 RAM, I don't see the value proposition in this case. Intel CPU > Ryzen CPU + new RAM + new motherboard, IMO. It would be a more difficult choice if you didn't already have parts.

I'm looking maybe to switch to Ryzen, will that be better than doing what you suggested above?

I'm thinking of going with a R5 1600, ASUS Prime B350M-A Mobo and 16GB 3000MHz Corsair DDR4 RAM, will this be a sufficient upgrade?

Yes, that would be a good idea. But then, you have to replace the board as well. Also Ryzen is very picky about RAM and 2133 might or might not work with it, so that is another added concern. Weigh in your options budget wise and see which is beneficial to you.

I mentioned in my first reply, with the components I'd go with, the RAM I chose was 3000MHz DDR4, would work with Ryzen?
Also would I need to purchase a new PSU?

Sorry I'm asking so many questions, I appreciate your help a ton!

I have a ASUS H110M-A board, so if I update the BIOS to run Kabylake, something like a i7 8700k would run just fine on it, and coupled with the 1060 3GB and 16GB 2133MHz ram I would be able to stream games like Overwatch and much more on it?

I mean, would my current PSU work with the upgrades I had just mentioned? It's been working just fine for the 2 years I've had it. If not could you recommend a good, but cheap PSU?

Bingo!

Thank you so much, sorry for being a pain but one last thing, could you guide me to a thread/tutorial that will show me how to upgrade my motherboard safely to support an i7 7700k?

Thank you to Hellfire for helping me too!
