Dirty cpu contact pad

So recently i bought my friend's cpu for a really cheap price after he upgraded his pc, and sadly he didnt take a good care of it, so he put the cpu in his pencil case full of crayon and now the pads are full of crayon. what can i do?

I assume you're talking about the contacts at the bottom of the CPU. Can you take a photo of it just so we can see what we are dealing with?

i mean the pads like the bottom side of intel's cpu, the one that you're not supposed to touch, the golden pad to be exact.

Well I wouldn't use anything too harsh. You could try pure rubbing alcohol.

I can only assume its pin-less... use an eraser and isopopyl alcohol

Rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab. You might try using a soft tooth brush but you'll probably have better luck with the swab.

Eraser, basically a piece of soft rubber to act as a gentle abrasive.
