Question about upgrading pc

Hi, my current setup is an i5-3470 CPU@ 3.20Ghz (4 CPUs), ~ 3.2Ghz, a ASRock Z77 Pro3 motherboard, a SSD Intel 180GB SATA-III 330 Series 2.5 inch 9.5 mm, a hard disk Western Digital 1TB SATA-III 7200 rpm 64MB Caviar Blue, a Samsung 850 EVO, 2.5", 250GB, SATA III ssd, a Seasonic S12II-620 Bronze 620W power source and a 2 X Kingston HyperX Blu 8GB DDR3 1600MHz CL10.My current video card is a MSI GeForce GTX 970 OC Gaming 4G TF5 4GB DDR5 256Bit gtx 970 gaming 4g.I have Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.I want to change my video card so my question is : Can i buy this video card https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125875 (GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1070 Windforce OC 8GB DDR5 256-bit) ? Can it run on my system? Thanx in advance.

1060 would be just 20% or so more powerful than his old 970.
Not worth it, better go for a 1070.

It shouldn't be a problem running it, if the BIOS is up to date.

There really isn't a correlation to whether your CPU is enough to handle the GPU, unless it's REALLY out of date. It's much more a matter of what resolution and refresh rate your monitor runs, and what level you like to have the details turned up to.

Ok, thanx for the help, i'm gonna buy the 1070.As for the bios update, the only one i can do is Improve DRAM compatibility.I m gonna go with the 1070.Thanx for the help.Have a nice day all of you.
