PC turning on, off, then on again after swapping SSD for another SSD

Hey, I recently bought a PC off my friend and each time I turn it on, it turns off, then on again and seems to run fine. I'm a little concerned by this, but it seems to have no issues.

I saw a few issues like this on the forum, but none seemed to be the quite the same situation.

I was wondering if this could have something to do with the fact that when I got the PC he wanted his SSD from it, and so I removed his and replaced it with mine. The PC started up fine and everything from my SDD loaded as if it was normal, just wondered if this could have something to do with the issue.

when you shut down your computer, and still plugged at the wall, your power supply still supply some power (very minimal) to the motherboard, how exactly it behaves purely based on the motherboard, and it consume very little power in this state.
if for some reason your computer power supply shuts off (let's say, disconnected completely off the wall plug, or you flip the power supply switch or flip the switch on the wall plug)
from the motherboard perspective, either you have suffered a power outage or you changed some hardware.
so it will go thru a quick self check before booting, and from the user's perspective, they observe the pc start, shutdown, start again.

Hey, thanks for the response.

I do turn my PC off at the power socket each time I turn it off - I haven't checked if it does it when I restart it, I'll give that a shot!

Sorry, I'm really not very computer literate - does that mean that turning it off at the plug wouldn't cause my problem?

It didn't turn off when I restarted it, so I reckon that's good news!

Ahhh, that makes sense - thank you very much. I think I will probably stop flipping the switch at the plug then - I hope turning it off in that way hasn't done it any harm!
