Safe or not? -- to drill holes in my metal case.

Hello.

I bought a Corsair CX450 PSU. It has an offcentered 120 mm. fan. The case's bottom PSU air intake is designed for centered 120 mm. fans. So, the PSU fan is partially covered by the case (see drawing).

I haven't mounted any parts yet.
All components are unopened in their boxes. I am thinking to first drill holes in the metal case so that the PSU's fan won't be obstructed at all, but I am afraid it might not be safe.

Will the drilling create any... I don't know... Any electrostatic charge? for example, which could damage the motherboard (or other components) once I start put everything into place.

Solution
It should be safe. The case is grounded via the PSU's mounting screws. The motherboard is grounded through all the ground lines between the power supply and the motherboard. Extra holes at the bottom of your case isn't an issue.
