Hey there,

I am trying to overclock my cpu but it can't go over 4.5mhz, all what I want is to
make to go to 5 mhz
Here are my specs:

And also I am using H110i cooler

In my bios it shows that I have 5 but when I save and exit it won't change in CPUID CPU-Z or HWiNFO64 and the changes are there in the cpu if I restart.
And sometime my pc freezes i think because of that.

I appreciate any advice

Solution
MugiwaraX,

Perhaps, your chip can't make it to 4.8. Silicone lottery...
1.35V for 4.8GHz could work. Then, you lower the voltage until it's not stable.
What have your tried precisly?

Hi MugiwaraX,

Some chips can't make it to reach 5GHz, you know, silicon lottery....
But he has to go further than 4.5GHz.

What is your voltage at 4.5GHz?
Is it manual? Auto?

After that we will make a plan to go beyond 4.5GHz!!

I am trying to at least test it if it can go byound 4.5 but I can't, I am not sure why but I am sure at least with my cooling system it can at least go byound 4.5 and now I am using 1.312 vol to check if the voltage was the problem.

Got some updates.

I Disabled XMP profile now the multiplier shows 8-50 so it seems like the XMP profile was causing some kind of conflict... not sure if im gonna overclock the ram manually since i can't use XMP?

BUT! it still won't go past 4400 but atleast i can see the multiplier 8-50 instead of 8-45 from before...i changed max cpu frequency to 5000 and 100% maximum state from the power management but that didn't help

You could disable the turbo boost technology, because it seems to lock your cores at 4.4GHz when all cores are under load.
Why that? You can see that you've put 50 on every cases but the value applied are 45 on 1 core and 44 for the rest.

Let me know.

I did it but still evertime I do changes in the bios menu the changes in the cpu won't apply. But in the RAM it changes, and I have a software called easy tuner that I didn't install because I thought that it would prevent me from changing anything for the cpu. But with i can apply a profile settings from the gigabyte software that changes the voltage to 1.22 and 4.7 ghz and works good. But evertime I want to change to something higher and test it on stress after almost 10 sec my pc freezes completely.
