I just put a USB cord in half it has 2 wires inside on Orange one red what are their functions

I just couldn't USB cord in half it has two insulated wires inside ones Orange when's red what do they mean what do they do what's their function

USB is based on serial transmission.

Serial transmission means basically a series of ones and zeros on ONE SIGNAL.

You only need two wire to transmit one signal.

Thus you have two wires.
