A few months ago I replaced the thermal paste on my GPU. There was hardly any paste left on it (R9 390x DD XFX) after only a year or so (cant remember exactly right now). Anyhow, I didn't change the thermal pads on the memory.

My question is, given the state of the thermal paste, would it be wise to put new thermal pads on the memory?

Additionally, how much heat does memory actually produce?

Solution
Thermal pads are much more resistant then thermal paste, dont worry, thermal pads can last a life time.

Memories does not produce large amounts of heat, the VRM which they have thermal pads too produces lots of heat.
