Hello guys,

I need some help to solve this problem:

When I Shutdown, Reset, Restart, or anything that will cause the pc to shutdown-restart (power surge), will not let me boot the computer.

All the fans will work, there will be no beep, screen is off (of course because there is no signal).

The only way I can fix this, is by turning off the computer, remove the power cord, and wait about 15-20 minutes. And then it will boot properly, the only problem after boot CMOS is reset.

I did change the cmos battery but still there is a problem.
I did update Bios to the latest version.

I know that this motherboard has a fail safe if there is a power surge, maybe this is it, I cannot find it and play with it in the bios or maybe something else is happening.

The Ram, the PSU, and HDD are new (about 2 months)

any suggestions?

In my experience, removing power cable doesn't clear CMOS. If CMOS isn't holding, even with new battery, then you've likely got a bad mobo. I've not heard of the brand of PSU you have, so I can't comment on it's quality, but it does raise suspicion, too. If you can, I would test another PSU (one of known good quality) on your build first, as it's the easiest to test.

If you can't get another PSU, try taking everything out of the case, then rebuild on cardboard or wood (or anything non-conductive) to rule out any possible electrical shorts caused by the case.
