Current Processor: AMD Phenom Dual-core 3.1GHz, I don't know the exact specs of the others. But I checked and they are compatible with my comp. I can go find the specs for the other processors if needed.

Alright the 8 core is a amd fx 8300. Motherboard brand and name: Asus M5A78L-M PLUS USB3
and it run find it you are to put the dual core back in it now?
Using just the motherboard iGPU?
Make and model of the PSU?
I'm using a graphics card Geforce GTX 1050 Ti . And I do believe my power supply is a 550 watt. So I was looking further into my motherboard bios update and in dxdiag it says my version is 0502 11/18/16. The latest version says it's 0502 12/23/16. Would they update the version 0502 and if so, should I get it?
did you try fx8300 using the igpu by taking out the 1050ti?
No not yet but if it did work, what would that mean? And the newest update on bios is names the same as my current, but they have different dates on them. Do they update version or do they always rename when adding stuff.
When I installed the processor, it allowed me to get a few games in, than it restarted. After that it restarted ever time I was about to enter a game. I put a box fan right next to my computer thinking it was temp. So after 15 minutes I came back to it to see if it would restart again. And it did. So I looked in my widow logs and found a critical error. When I saw the error number(42) it says that it's because I don't have enough power. So is it power or temp? And I so believe my Power Supply is 550 watts. And it doesn't restart. on a low graphic games. I haven't fully tested this but when I got on Cross Code which is a low graphic game, it let me play it for a bit and didn't restart. I can fully test this by leaving the game on for an hour if needed.
If the message said power, I would think that too. get a good quality one
But it doesn't add up. If it was power, it wouldn't allow me to play for that long. It would be consistent and continue to restart. So my last test to see if it's heat. I added more thermal past to the 8 core. It didn't have that much on.
