What are the best settings for obs with poor internet

I am looking forward to live streaming, and I am looking for the best setting for obs with my upload speed under 1 Mbps. Any suggestions?
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1400 @3.2GHz
Video Card: Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 with 2GB GDDR5

Pick a bitrate. I prefer to save 200-500kbps seperate from OBS. Next pick a resolution that the bitrate you've chosen can keep up with. You want clean video with no pixelation or blocky segments.

For example, if I remember correctly my old set up was capturing at 1920x1080 and downscaling to 640x480 and encoding with 650kbps out of my 1mbps dedicated to OBS.

From that you can fine tune settings like downscale options and x264 encoding speed.
