What cpu should I pair with Gtx 1050ti?

Hi guys, I’m gonna build my first PC and i have already selected all the parts except the mobo and cpu. I’m scared that I’ll make a mistake so I need your guys’ help. Should i go Ryzen 3, i3 8100 OR Ryzen 5 1400/1600, i5 8400. The thing is, I think the R5 and i5 8400s might be overkill for my PC. Hope you can help me

That depends on what you play. Lots of AAAs? Then ryzen 5 2000 series or i5 8thgen. Otherwise for competitive/mobas/indie games ryzen 3/i3 will be enough.

Yeah AAA, as well as fortnite pubg etc. But won’t a i5 8400 or r5 2000 series be overkill?

Not at all. I really recommed r5 2000 series for pubg and AAA. Those are very cpu demanding games. As you can see here that's quite a big difference between r3 and r5.

Also the r5 will be much future proof.

Seems than i5 8th gen is better that ryzen but the ryzen 2000 series just released and can't find any benchmarks for ryzen 5 2600.
