So, my cousin's iPhone 5s fell into a puddle about two weeks ago. She put the phone in rice for three days (btw I know the rice doesn't help) and then she gave it to me, since it didn't work properly. I removed the screen, battery and the logic board from the phone and proceeded to clean the logic board with isopropyl alcohol.
The point is, the phone had the battery and the logic board disconnected for more than half of a day. but when I put the phone back, it showed the time and date perfectly. I don't know the passcode of the phone, so it didn't connect to WiFi (I also checked the DHCP table on the router - the phone wasn't there) and the SIM card wasn't in the phone.
I read something about a small battery specifically for the time... Is that it? And it works even if the logic board is submerged in isopropyl alchohol?
