Hi

I'm planning on building a pc soon as my 2011 macbook pros logic board has failed again. I want to use the SSD that I installed in my macbook as the boot drive in the pc but it is currently formatted to mac os journaled. I can't get on my mac to format the drive to MS DOS or EX FAT. Will the drive need formatting before I install it in my new pc or will windows be able to see it and allow me to format it during installation?

Thanks for any help

Mx 100 is almost compatible with every motherboard manufacturer and windows will format it when u add it to ir new PC.. just plug it in and when u install windows, it will be formatted according to windows requirements.

Yes windows will format it as its need. But make sure u read the manufacturer notes on ur ssd about its compatibility as ssd model may not be supported by ur new motherboard manufacturer.. ( this very rare but make sure u check ur ssd specs and compatibility on the manufacturer site as ur ssd is 7 years old and may not be supported).
