My friend recently just purchased this 1080 card and upgraded from a 1050Ti. His old rig runs just fine with the 1050 installed, also runs with the 1080 installed and using onboard graphics. Upon booting with onboard graphics we checked that the card was being recognized in Device Manager, and it was.

What is getting to me is that it's not the common no signal blank screen issue. My monitor has a light that blinks red if there is no input, and it's solid if there is input. The light goes solid and you can tell that it's getting signal, but the screen is just blank. You can even hear Windows boot behind it through the speakers.

He bought this card on Amazon, I'm thinking dead card and he should return it. Anything I should try prior to sending it back?

Solution
Its possible that with the 1080 installed its using the integrated GPU as the default. You may need to set the default GPU o PEG or Pcie in the bios.
