Hello everyone,

Since i wanted to create content with my PC. I needed a CPU. I know the i7 6700K is great for workstation, and the i5 7600K is more aimed at gaming. But, i'm planning to video edit 1080p 60 fps files without / with a little stuttering while editting. And i don't really care about the render times. Can someone advice me one of the 2?

The 6700k would be better as a workstation/gaming CPU even if it's older. The hyperthreading in the i7 chips is a considerable advantage. The gaming/general computing difference between the two is minimal.

If it's for workstation/gaming I would consider either newer i7 chips like the 8700k/7700k or Ryzen 7 (1700X or 2700X). They would offer far better performance in content creation tasks. The 2700X looks extremely promising if you want a content creation/gaming CPU.
