Hey all,

My pc internet is randomly dropping out and getting the yellow warning symbol. I do use a Tp link AV-500 and suspect that this is the problem. A warning sign that the internet is going to drop is increased latency/ping in rocket league prior to disconnecting. Restarting pc usually fixes problem for a short amount of time and pulling out both adapters will fix it for longer (usually).

Thanks for the help

Tp link AV-500 - Powerline adapters.

No extension cords being used. No power strips or intervening surge protectors. Correct?

Are the Powerline adapters fully and firmly in the wall outlets?

Can you try the other wall outlet socket or even other wall outlets?

Does one adapter or the other get very warm or even hot? Then works okay when it has cooled off some after being pulled out?

Have you tried swapping out the Ethernet cables on each end with known working Ethernet cables?

Powerline adapters are very dependent on the layout and condition of your home's electrical circuits. Are you aware of any other electrical issues; e.g., flickering lights, power sags, devices that start beeping with power losses.

I have checked and none of these instances have effected anything. How it gets fixed and what causes it is extremely random. In terms of electrical layout the adapters were woking perfectly fine before and i don't have a large house so it shouldn't be a problem

Could then be that one of the adapters has developed a problem of some sort.

Works for awhile, "overheats", and then loses connectivity.

However, we cannot exclude some problem within the house's electrical circuits although that is less likely overall.

Temporarily using other outlets and longer Ethernet cables may identify a problem outlet.

Could simply be some electrical circuit problem. Wires do loosen overtime. Power may be okay per se but more sensitive things (data connections) are affected.

Any new appliances or additional loads?

Key would be noting some pattern that corresponds with the use of any such devices and the service interruptions/random disconnects.

Intermittent problems are difficult to solve especially if you cannot identify any such corresponding patterns.

If you do not know how to do so, have a knowledgeable friend or family member check the wall outlets.

Ensure that the wiring is fully and firmly connected within the respective outlets.

"Shouldn't be" is not in Mr. Murphy's vocabulary. :)
