Best CPU/Motherboard Combo For Recording Studio

Hello, I am interested in upgrading my CPU and Motherboard for my current rig. I will primarily be utilizing it for my home based recording studio. I am interested in either the 7820X, 8700K, or 2700X. Value per dollar isn't important since I can actually get all of these for around the same price, so price is not a factor between these three combos. Here are my build ideas...

A) 2700X with either Asrock Taichi Ultimate or Asus Crosshair Hero AC x470 motherboard.

B) 7820X with either a Gigabyte Gaming Ultra Pro or MSI Tomohawk AC X299 motherboard

C) 8700K, No idea on a motherboard but probably an ROG motherboard.

Both single and multi core performance is important. Light to moderate gaming is nice too. Computer will also be used for Rendering. I have no problems with Cooling it.

Rest of build already owned includes.

32GB Kingston Hyper X Fury 2666 DDR4 Dual Channel RAM

Corsair 780T Full Tower Case

EVGA Platinum 1600W Power Supply

R9 295X2 Graphics Card

360MM Arctic Liquid Freezer 360 Cooler

My biggest concern of the 8700K is its multicore performance. My biggest concern of the 2700X will be it's single core performance and whether it's single core performance reallt improved that much over the 1800X in addition to potential instability of the new chip, and my biggest concerns of the 7820X is that the motherboard options are not quite as top end versus the others due to price as well as lots of potential heat and noise in addition to uncertainty of it's rank in performance compared to the other options.

Any ideas as to what would be the best option to go with and why? Thanks, And have a great day.

It might actually help you get a better view on what you want. Since you're going to be working with Audio, I know that the rule of thumb is simple: RAM amount > CPU threads > Disc amount and performance > CPU performance.

Sorry for a borderline non-answer, but I think you are very much aware of what you want and those numbers might help you realize what combination you need.

Cheers!

Threadripper seems to do well with less strict settings but I dont really want to sacrifice settings if I am spending that much on my computer. The 7820X seems to solid ly outperform the 1800X but I wonder how they compare each overclocked. The other factor that is an unknown variable at this point is the performance of the 2700X. I think at this point I have my decision narrowed down to 7820X vs 2700X. Without benchmarks though, Not really aure yet. Thanks for the reply.

If you ask me personally and given the leaks I've seen AND the amount of time left for the official reviews hit the internet (the 19th), it's absolutely worth waiting to see how it stacks up against the rest. I have a feeling it will be a good option against the 7820X.

Cheers!
