I work on an HP Z600 workstaion, and I have a GTX 750 ti connected to it, my PSU cable wasn't long enough so I had a 6pin connector which splits into two Molex connectors with three wires to each Molex connector.

I connected One of the Molex connectors to the Molex connector coming from the CD Drive and left the other one unconnected.

If I were to buy a 6 pin extender and connect the PSU cable to the Graphics card, will I see a performance increase?

Solution
You should never use adapters (molex to 6 pin etc) If you have an actual 6 pin cable available. Yes, if you connected the GPU to the Power Supply itself using an extender, you wont notice a performance increase directly, but the GPU itself will be alot stable.
