Hi, I'm going to upgrade my Memory / RAM from my current 8GB (2x 4GB) to 16GB 2133 Mhz DDR3 RAM. I had purchased another 8GB (2x 4GB) kit but was damaged during the transit process and I can't find the exact model anywhere online. So, I had found two other models of the same Brand which come close to matching the Frequencies and CAS Latency with my current RAM but both of the RAM are 16GB (2x 8GB).

I was thinking of using the 16GB (2x 8GB) RAM as my main RAM and my old RAM (2x 4GB) as a backup but If possible I wanted to use it with my 16GB so I have 24GB of RAM but they have different CAS Latency. I would like to get the Ripjaws X Blue since it has the lower latency and $60 cheaper but which one out of the two ram would be more compatible if I were to set the timings and voltages manually like the OP post here, since it solved his issue with mixing RAM. Thanks!

I know that mixing ram is not good but since some of the new games now recommends that I have 16gb of ram. I would like to have some free RAM and I would be using it for other purposes like editing etc. So, if possible I would like to use my old 8GB RAM (2x 4GB) with 16GB of RAM (2x 8GB) but I don't know which one of them would be more compatible with my old RAM with CAS Latency: 11-11-11-30-2N. Would Ripjaws X Blue be able to run at CAS Latency: 11-11-11-30-2N? I had been thinking of getting the blue since its $60 cheaper and has a much lower latency but I want to make to make sure I'm making the right purchase or maybe if the RAM doesn't work and refund is allowed, I'll try to ask for a refund and get the other RAM. I'm asking this because DDR3 RAM are getting harder to find and the prices seem to have gone up. It won't be long before DDR3 RAM dissapears and the production stops.
