Gaming. Bottleneck GTX 1080

Hi, I heard about my pc possibly 'bottlenecking' because recently I bought a new GPU gtx 1080.

This is my spec:

16GB RAM
GTX1080
i7-4771 CPU @ 3.5ghz
Motherboard Gryphon Z87

Is this the cause?

I'm getting about 40 fps for games like PUBG when others report having higher fps.

I don't think bottlenecking is the problem. I think that processor should work well with the 1080.

I would check cpu and gpu temps for any throttling by heat.

You don't have a CPU bottleneck. The 4770 is still a very capable CPU.

What resolution are you playing at and what are your CPU/GPU temps? Despite PUBG being very poorly optimized, you should get more than 40fps at 1080p.

Idk, does it? I can look to MSI Afterburner and its osd.

The CPU's load is only at 67%.

Did you do a full uninstall of the old drivers before installing the new ones for your 1080? What settings and screen res are you using in that game? Your GPU is at 99% usage while your cpu is only at 67%
