Hi! Just want to know iff it is a big deal iff my gtx 1080's middle fan does a little crackling noise when running at slow speeds. Thanks for your time guys!

Solution

I have the same exact GPU. My guess is that the fan curves are NOT all the same. What I mean is, go into your BIOS and make sure all 3 fans are set exactly the same when the "fan stop" feature kicks in. It just may be a simple little re calibration, is all. Maybe that one fan is set just a tad above what the other two are.
If that doesn't fix the issue, and your uncomfortable with what it is doing, RMA it asap.

the actual thing happening is: when the card is leaving fanstop, the fan does a crackling noise repeatedly, like it will try to start a couple times. then, everything goes ok when the fan starts. sometimes also, it will do a lighter but continuous crackling sound when it runs at low speed
