Trying to setup moca network

I have never had a moca network setup in my home but due to xfinity removing me being able to run two modems in my home, without getting two internet services, I'm looking into moca.

I am not familiar with the tech at all but I've been reading about it and watching several videos.

Basically my current setup consists of a modem/router upstairs in my home. I have an apartment attached to the home that I would like to have better connection, preferably hard wired (Ethernet).. without having to run cables across the home.

According to what I've read, moca is a solution but I'm not 100% sure I'm understanding the setup.

Can I run a coax cable from the section of the house that I want hard wired to the moca network box and connect it to a router and be able to hook up my pc without having to have an Ethernet cord directly from my primary service modem? I have a Motorola arris sb6141 modem and a better nighthawk rouer that are not in use right now so if I need either one to get the moca network running then I have them available.

Basically I'm looking to see if I can setup a moca network to another coax tv adapter in a separate part of the home to get the internet service. The main modem is upstairs and the apartment is two levels down.. Will I need 2 moca adapters?

MOCA is pretty much just like running an actual Cat5e cable, except that it uses the existing hoiuse coax.

If the coax runs to where you need it, this might be a solution.
Router--->Cat5e-->MOCA device--->house coax line--->MOCA device--->cat5e---->PC

These MOCA devices:

I have a different Actiontec, but I see no reason these would not work.

Do I need more than one moca adapter if my xfinity modem is moca ready? I want to setup a moca adapter in the basement with a router to get my pc connected with Ethernet

I don't know about xfinity.
My Verizon FiOS, I only needed one. The ethernet signal is already "in" the coax, as it comes out of the ONT.

And I'm not sure you need a second router.
What do you have now?

-Cisco dcp3939 modem / router (xfinity-blast) main

Will this work anywhere in the house as long as I have the moca adapter in that room with the coax connection

Trying to get wired in the basement with the moca

How does the signal come IN to the modem/router? Coax?

My modem/router is a single unit. The main goal is to get internet downstairs that isn't wireless .. I want to keep the modem where it is at now. I did order the 2 set of the moca you listed.

Assuming the house coax is all connected, this should work no problem.

One MOCA next to the router, one MOCA next to the PC downstairs. Short ethernet at both ends to connect.

For the moca unit next to the modem, how are the cables setup.. meaning the Ethernet and coax cables. Is it coax->moca->coax or ethernet-> modem?

I get that I need to run coax ->moca->Ethernet->pc for the downstairs unit

Router--->ethernet--->MOCA--->coax......

Think of the MOCA device as injecting the internet signal into the house coax.
The other MOCA downstairs reads it and brings it out to a PC.

Sorry, I'm not very educated on networking. I basically just said it backwards lol

It might be used error but I know for a fact our home is all in one wiring for the whole house. When I put the moca filter at the POE, it stopped the whole house from receiving the signal for internet. I took it off, now I have internet. I'm not sure what's going on.

I have coax from wall coax plate to a 5-1675 splitter, from there I have coax cables running to both modem and moca adapter, with Ethernet running from moca adapter to modem. From what I've read, this is how it is supposed to be setup.
