While making my 1st build with a part picker it gave me the compatibility warning " some AMD b350 chipset motherboards may need a bios update prior to using Pinnacle Bridge CPUs, upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by an older bios revision"

Being my first build attempt I'm not totally sure what this means.

Solution
It just depends on when it was packaged, BIOS was updated about month ago, needs at least AGESA 1.0.0.0a. You'll have to contact seller for that information.

It is on the QVL list. probably work at stock settings and probably would not hurt to to use a -0.0625V offset. With that board the wraith spire is all you need for cooling. Been there, got a 1600 on the same board. Don't expect you will get 4.2ghz on all cores, but maybe can. I would start with a FID of 148 raise it one notch at a time. if you going overclock and don't forget the negative offset. LLC does not seem to make much difference.

if the mb was produced and shipped to the retailer before the ryzen 2xxx apu launch, likely it has the older bios.

you would need an old a10 am4 cpu or ryzen 1xxx to get into BIOS and update it to a later version which supports the ryzen 2xxx cpu.
