Right so i'm going to build my dad a new computer.I don't really know what cpu to go for, we got 800-1200 NZD. So far i feel ryzen is a good choice but i don't know. Its only being used for banking and internet browsing.A apu would be fine

If only for banking and internet browsing, i5 8400 is a bit of an overkill.

Processor is from Kaby Lake generation so the best upgrade would be an i7 7700. Imho, don't need anything else if only for banking and internet browsing.
