Asrock ga31m-s cpu list

I have asrock ga31m-s motherboard. And i wanted to upgrade my pc. Found cheap quad core q9500 cpu, i checked cpu support list and this cpu is not listed as supported... would it work anyway? Any ideas?

It's hard to say. There's no reason I can think of that it wouldn't support the Q9500... it supports every other Yorkfield C2Q at 95W TDPs.

BUT, without it being confirmed by either the CPU support list, or a user with that specific board + CPU up & running, it's only a best guess.

What CPU do you have currently? and how cheap is "cheap"?
