best budget friendly heatsink for LGA1155

Cryorig H7 would be my "go to"

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU Cooler: CRYORIG - H7 49.0 CFM CPU Cooler ($34.89 @ OutletPC)
Total: $34.89
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

But, it'll depend on the CPU you're cooling and the case housing it all. Might be a little overkill, although a great cooler for the money.

If you could find a CM 212EVO for about $20 it might make sense for the 'value', but at it's MSRP in the $30 range, it's tough to justify. The H7 is the better cooler, for only marginally more.

If it can fit the Cryorig H7 then that's the one to go with or if you require something a bit smaller I'd consider the Noctua NH-L9i.

Looking at it, I doubt anything substantial would fit.

Image(s) are from an i3-550 (LGA1156 chip) system.... but same model number.

That's a 92mm fan mount at the rear, isn't it?

If that's the case, you've got ~100mm height or so, assuming there's no weird component layouts inside.

In addition to the NH-L9i (a great option when you have limited space to work with),

Cryorig have the C7:

Or, exceeding your budget, but better cooling performance, the C1.

Cool. Wasn't sure, based on the images etc - it looked like height *could* be an issue..... and couldn't find pictures confirming the internal layout, and some can have some weird layouts.

But if you've worked in one before and can confirm, then awesome!
