I3 6300 or i5 6500t for office build

I need a cpu for office build. Im buying used and the 6500t is 25£ more than the i3 but is it needed or worth extra? Im doing general business excel word docs etc but eventually light programming android sdk and light web development. No gaming.

The two extra physical cores of the 6500t should be more beneficial for your workload, specially android SDK.

In terms of normal use would there be a difference since the i3 has 3.8ghz vs the i5 2.5ghz? Il be doing a lot more normal office work.

You will not notice any difference in the use you indicate. Go for the cheapest one.
The two processors perfectly meet your needs

As mentioned above, for normal usage it is fine. But when you multitask and use SDKs, that is when the i3 is going to struggle a bit. If you workload is not going to be extensively those, then the i3 is fine.

Thanks. i think I will go with the cheaper i3 for now and use the extra savings for an SSD. My older main computer is a better i5 so when the time comes I will swap them and upgrade this newer office build into my main.
