hi , i was about to buy 1600 and then 2600x is here.so it is worth it ?
i mean it is 100 euro up here from 1600.
and i must wait for x470 mb for better perfomance?

Solution
the 2600 is clocked a couple hundred MHz higher, and supports faster mem timings...

Allegedly, the older X370/B350 mainboards should support the newer CPUs after a BIOS flash...(confirm for your board BEFORE you buy it...)

I don't see +100EUR gains from the benchmarks released today..... especially when you considering the "risk" of opting for an older X370/B350 motherboard.

The 2600X is a replacement for the 1600X though, so they're not direct competitors necessarily. The price should really be compared between the 2600 and 1600.

For me, for +100EUR, it's not worth it. Prices may come down on "old" Ryzen CPUs though..... so if possible, maybe wait a week or two?

Based on the price difference(s), I don't see any reason to spend 100EUR more.

The non-X variants have the stock coolers and, from what I've seen, the Zen+ is actually drawing a bit more power. So the stock cooler isn't too-too viable for overclocking.

"Must" you go with the 1600 and overclock? No, of course not. But that's where the value is IMO.

Basically, the 1600 is slightly slower than the 2600x, but not a huge margin. Maybe 10-15% difference. If the difference is 100 euros, then get the cheaper 1600 in my opinion and overclock it as much as you're able, then it will negate some of the performance difference. I have a 1600 overclocked to 3.7ghz and it's a fine chip.

I haven;t seen any benchmarks at this point that's giving that kind of performance difference overall

In a couple of select workloads (like CB), the 2600X is taking a decent 15% improvement in scores... but a lot of the time it's within a couple of percentage points.

The improved (albeit slight) single-core performance could be beneficial for gaming, for example....

It could, I'm in the USA myself, but he's saying 100 euros. If it were a difference of 100 dollars, I don't think the 2600x is worth that much extra, especially when you can overclock the 1600 a little. I would say the 2600x is just slightly better. It gains a few points in games, so of course we can estimate performance, I'm basically saying is it 100 bucks worth over a 1600? Not in my opinion, but that is for the op to decide.

Frankly speaking, there isn't much difference compared to the 2600X. Same CPU cores.. same amount of threads.. and it's just slightly different in the base clock and max clock boost. If you get the 1600X and boost it via oc, it should be running close to the 2600X. And, if you owned any of the 1600X chipsets, keep it. 2600X is not worth the upgrade at the moment. Save up and looked for 7 series upgrade.
