I read up on this and I am 99% sure that it is a dud but I'm just asking here to make sure.

So I bought this on New Years eve, but have just recently got my computer fully built. My ssd that I bought works fine (128 GB).

On boot up i've noticed that it makes this weird clicking noise as seen here:

I looked up videos similar to mine and I think it's a dud (What sure why it would be clicking)

Also, when I put the device in, it shows that it's not initialized and that it has no space and is read as "Unknown" In device manager

Thank you for anyone that can help or just confirm that this thing is broken

that does not sound good.....

If the drive does not show up (empty and/or utilized space should show, alllow manipulation of partitions,adding/deleting partitions) in admin tools/computer mngmt/storage/disk mngmt, it's time to hope it is still under warranty with WD....

Noise coming from a hard drive could mean that the spindle is interfering with the plate or disc. That happened to me one time, and 2 weeks later it smoked up. I recommend to back up your data, and get a new hard drive. Hopefully it has warranty!
