Hello everyone

I built a new coffee lake system and plugged in my hard drive with windows 7 and my work files installed on it. None of the usb ports were working which included the mouse. Fortunately my keyboard is ps/2 port so i used it to somehow install the LAN, Audio and the Chipset driver that came with the motherboard. It says "The drivers for this device are not installed (Code 28)" for 'Universal Serial Bus (USB) Contoller)' and 'PCI Simple Communications Controller' under the Other devices list.
There was nothing under the Universal Serial bus controllers list.

I originally thought that I shorted the motherboard and that is the reason the usb ports are not working but all the ports works in bios. Then I read that intel does not provide chipset drivers for windows 7 on coffee lake but the motherboard disc had it and installed successfully, shows up in the device manager as well.

I tried literally all sorts of usb 3.0 usb 3.1 drivers from asmedia and intel but none of them worked for me. It says 'Windows could not find drivers for this device' when you try to update in device manager.

I have been trying for two days now and i really cant do this anymore without any help. Please help me fix this.
