Hi all,

Hopefully next week I will be buying a 1060 6gb for my build have been using a IGPU for about 4 months( or longer) and I can't wait. However in my build at the moment I have a corsair 600w cx psu. I have done some research and have read alot of bad things about them I have had it for about two years i think and I was wondering if I should upgrade to a better quality one. My specs are

CPU: I5 6500
GPU: GTX 1060 6GB Asus duals
RAM: 16GB @ 2131
Mobo: Asus h110 plus

Many thanks

Solution
With a GTX 1060 and i7 you could use a 550W, higher would only be for future upgrade potential.

EVGA G2 is an excellent power supply. Better than the G3 in my opinion.

Thanks for the reply i was thinking about getting a evga g2 psu but not sure if i should stick with 600w or go a bit lower i will probably upgrade my cpu to an i7 soon and will probably not overclock.

I would upgrade the psu. The old CX were known for prematurely failing, lost count of how many threads I have seen where a 1-2 year old CX has failed or shown signs of dying. The risk is if you wait and it dies it could damage other components as the old CX have little protection built in.
