I've planned out a new build that has a budget under $2k, and so far I've collected the parts that I believe are great for the games I'll be playing, but I'm not certain if they're the best choices.

Cheaper and better parts are welcome as long as the cheaper ones can outperform or is neck and neck with my current choice.

I also need help with my monitor choices, as I've had terrible experiences trying to look for one by myself. The current choice I found is just a placeholder, suggest any monitor of any price at 1080p - 1440p and 144hz+.

All help is appreciated!

As a base for a $2000 gaming rig i'd look at a Intel i7 8700k for the cpu. At that price point, i'd want at least 16GB of ram, preferably DDR4 3200 speed. As for a graphics card, the Nvidia gtx 1080 is very capable at 1440p. The 11 series cards are months away and will have a price premium tacked on at launch.

$1830 without the monitor. Another option could be BenQ Zowie XL2411 144Hz at $250 which would make the whole build just under 2k. Though, XL2411 doesn't have G-Sync.

Haha I just noticed that, I'll have it up. And by future I mean 2 months from now.
