I reset my BIOS because my laptop kept giving me the blue screen of death, but resetting it didn’t solve the problem, so I took my laptop to an expert, and he thinks the problem is with the fan, because my laptop is overheating. Right now I’m worried that I’ve messed up my laptop by resetting the bios ( I never did an update to the BIOS in the past) so would the reset whic I’ve done cause damage to my laptop or make me lose my data because i have loads of college work and losing it would be a nightmare!

Outside of the worry about BIOS settings, why don't you have backups of all your college work? If you save it to external drives, cloud storage, no worries. You can toss your computer in a volcano and it won't matter. What if your hard drive died instead of a fan issue? Backup your files now.
