I can't access the printer on the same subnet (TL-WR841N)

Hello guys.
I have a speeport entry 2i as the main modem.
Its ip is 192.168.0.1
I have connected a tplink TL-WR841N on it using tp-link's wan port.
The address of the tplink is 192.168.1.1 (it forbids me to assign it an address on the same subnet as the modem)
I have a macbook pro and an epson printer connected on the router using two of the four ethernet ports it provides.
The problem is that I can't print using my mac (if I ping the printer using the ip it gets from the router I get a request timeout).
On the other hand I have a response from a tablet using the wireless network of the router but of course this is another network.
That setup (mac + printer) is working if I connect both to the modem.
But I want to add the router to this equation because it is placed in another room of the house taking internet access from the modem using a couple of devolo powerlines and providing stronger wireless access to my tablet(speedport entry 2i wireless signal is weak).

Solution
The reason you have problems is because of the NAT in the TPlink. This is the same reason you can not access thing in your house from the internet. You might be able to use port mapping or DMZ setting to fix this but it is a pain.

Since you do not actually need a second network I would run your tplink as a AP so that it is pretty much acting as a WiFi switch rather than a router.

The device may have a option to set it to AP mode. If not you plug into the LAN port, change the ip to one that is in the same subnet as your main router and most importantly disable the DHCP. It should allow you to change the lan IP to the same subnet if the wan port is not connected. You could I suppose assign a garbage IP to the wan port if it...

Thank you for your answer.
I could do that but I have only two ethernet ports on the devolo powerline.
If I connect the one port to the router I have only one cable left for the macbook pro and the printer.
