My Fantom external drive has recently quit working. After contacting support for the device, they suggested that the case was bad but HD should be ok. Luckily, I have a USB to Sata Drive Adapter. Sure enough I was able to plug it in, and plugged it the usb portion to my laptop. Good news, is that I can hear the HD spinning now so it's not completely dead. Bad news is that Win 10 will not recognize it. It does show up on disk management as an unallocated partition. The only option is to format the drive which will delete all my data. I downloaded testdisk based on a previous case on this forum; after doing the scan it says it cannot find a bootable sector.
Any suggestions on how to recover my data?
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
