GPU usage slowly goes down while gaming

Hi,

It starts at like 90-100% which is normal, giving me excellent framerates. After like an hour/two of playing games though, my GPU usage slowly declines to around 20-30% usage, which ends up getting me less than 60fps in game.

I've tested clean driver install, checked the temps, its under water and dont go above 45c at full load. I tried EVGA's Kboost, but still slowly goes down % by %. - It never dips hard tho.
When I restart a game, it goes back to 99% load and just slowly dies down again.

EDIT: Card is a 980TI

Anyone have any ideas?

To verify the integrity of gpu/psu you should run a graphics card benchmark. Get the free Unigine Valley and run it at max settings and full hd. Use MSI afterburner monitoring tool and focus on your gpu usage. It should be 99-100% all the time. Let the benchmark run for enough minutes to check whether your issue is reproduced.

CPU usage is not too high, atleast not for the game im playing, its around 40-50% mark and the temps on the CPU is also under water and wont go past 50c under load on a normal day.

Yeah did a clean install on the drivers just a few days ago when I noticed the issue. TBH it could just be the game im playing, i dont play any other games as of now, ill download a well-known optimized game and test on that and see.

But EVGA's Kboost, in Precision X - Shouldnt that lock the GPU at 100% load? Or does it just lock the clock on the card.
Cause when i used it before on the stock GPU cooler, the cooler fan speed up cause the load got to 100%. But this does not seem to happen now
