ryzen 2700x or i7 8700

im upgrading my cpu, but idk if i sould go for ryzen 2700x(using b350) or i7 8700(using b360)...in amazon i7 8700 is going for 273+ 30(cooler): 300$ and ryzen 2700x with stock cooler is going for 330$.. i dont want to overclock and i will mostly gaming. btw my gpu is a 960 but im planning to buy a 1160 when its released. what should i buy ?

8th gen i5's are already 6 core, gaming generally requires 4 cores mostly. The 8th gen i7 has 6 cores and hyper-threading which would be overkill IMO. Rather get an i5 8500 with a B360 mobo, save up for a GTX 1170/1180. ;)

ok i will probably do that .. but still should i get a after market cooler or use the stock ?
