Please can you help, is there any way that I can get back all my files from now what is a 2TB Unallocated HDD?

Solution
Don't do any writes to the drive. Download and run a data restoration program, most have free trials to show you what they can do.

You can first try to recover the entire drive with a partition repair tool. HERE are some examples, and always try the free demonstration versions first to insure that they will help.

If those don't work, then go to data recovery software. I'd start with Recuva (trial available then $20), EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard, and or WinHex. Recuva has a free trial, EaseUS has a free trial that will show you what it will do, and I've had a lot of luck with WinHex recovery that included folder structure and it also has a demonstration version but costs like $45 -- but it too has a free trial.

Once you have recovered what you can, back it all up to another place too -- one backup is almost no backup.

Thank you so much

After being on this for the last 6 hours or so I am in the end process of a deep scan from Easus data recovery wizard pro and it's showing all my lost data up to now 1.2 TB
I paid through PayPal and the activation seems to be seamless
The deep scan I anticipate will take another 4 hours to complete the deep scan.
I hope that the recovery time will be less than the scan haha
Using
Intel i5 4400
16gb DDR
120gb SSD For OS
1TB HRS for storage
Win 10 pro
Thank you once again for your kind help

Well RB I am not entirely out of the woods yet.

being a 74 year old Tyro in the IT game I more pr less "test" my way through these little problems and through maybe inexperiencE I occasionally cock it up like last night by deleting an active partition instead of an unallocated one with loads of data.

I am now in touch with the "support team from Easus (when they return to work maybe tomorrow) because, whilst I have saved all the files recovered in a highly compressed "Exported) file on my SSD, the instruction from their App to browse for a folder for recovery has left me scratching my head because there is nothing there for me to browse.

Also the fact that they advise me not to use my old 2TB HDD from which the recovered files have come from, which is not very old, means I may have to find another HDD large enough to take the recovered files from, in effect making the 2TB redundant

Maybe I will learn more when the Easus team answer.

Once again "thank you" for your help
