On Windows 10/Windows 7, for some reason everything is running slow.

Hi. I am seriously so annoyed. On my computer, which happens to be pretty up to date, spec wise. I got a GTX 1060 OC, also with a Gtx 950 an MSI z170A gaming pro motherboard, and an Intel Core i7 6700 topped with a 600 watt PSU. So this computer ain't old enough to run Windows. I've tried to defrag but its always at 0% fragmentation. I have always been having brief freezing, so I plan to upgrade my mobo. and CPU to a ryzen 7 1800x and a ASUS x370 Pro. Would this solve my problems such as super slow PC and freezing?

If you remove a drive from system and it doesn't boot anymore, this means either:
  • 1. boot priority has changed (you have to fix it in BIOS) or
    2. drive you removed has OS or bootloader on it (OS and bootloader may end on different drives, if you install OS, while multiple drives are connected).

I used two graphics cards so I can fit more monitors. I do have 16gb of ram.

I meant it in a frustration type. My computer is not even 2 1/2 years old. And I used two graphics cards so I can fit more monitors.

It makes sense, I only currently have one but I was planning on getting 3 extra ones. I wouldn't assume that the PSU is causing my lag issues.

Update: I did take out the 950. Though issues still persist. . It took 2 1/2 minutes to open Chrome. Despite it being one of the only thing downloaded. On another thread, one person said my PowerCo. LTD ATM-600FB is a "Bottom tier garbage psu". Which is understandable. We picked the cheapest one when we got it. I'm not sure if my PSU problems can play a role in this issue.

Yes, that is a VERY poor PSU-shaped object. You really need something better. With only one GPU installed, how does the system perform, overall? BTW, do you have the current Nvidia video and the Intel motherboard chipset drivers installed?

Hmmm. No I don't. I have the disk. I just don't really do it sometimes. And it never gave me issues with/without it before. I'll try it. I go on Nvidia's website for the drivers.

Alright, I downloaded the Chip-set drivers and no luck there.

Alright. I figured out what was the problem. It seems that was my HDD causing my slowing down issues. Which is kinda odd because I didn't install Windows 7 on my HDD. It was on my SSD. Because now I reset my PC and don't have my HDD plugged in. But for some reason when I unplugged my HDD Windows wouldn't boot up, despite Windows not being on that hard drive. So I am gonna replace my hard drive. If you can give an explanation to this that'd would help later. Thanks for your help everybody.
Nick.
