PC build advice 1500X or i5 7400

Hi guys and gals, I'm looking at two sistems one of them has and i5 7400 and the other one an ryzen 1500X, the gpu goes for both of the builds a gtx 1050 ti, I want it just for gaming, nothing special to do with it. Games that I'm dying to play are: Rocket

Cant go wrong with either. Both will give you good performance, but the 1500x when OCed can be better in some multithreaded games, with its 4 extra threads. Also that platform is currently upgrade able. I would be more tempted towards the 1500x, unless there is a big price gap.

But why build a new rig from a previous generation chipset? The i5 8400 paired with an H or B-series Coffee Lake motherboard will blow that out of the water. I can't imagine it being that much more either. Hopefully they'll be out and available soon. I would wait for that. You'll be much better off long term.
