New AMD Ryzen 7 2700X No Display

Hey guys, so I just installed the new AND Ryzen 7 2700x into my PC previously I had the AMD Ryzen 5 1400 which to my knowledge had a higher power consumption than this new cpu everything was working perfectly and the only thing I changed was the cpu now I get no video on my monitors. I've tried plugging the cable into the IHDMI but i still get nothing im running 8gb of ram an RX 580 and a wraith COOLER on an B350m bazooka motherboard while using a 450w power supply someone please help. I want to cry.

Many motherboards require a BIOS update to operate (or even boot up) the second generation Ryzen processors.

Check your motherboard's website for compatibility with your new processor. There is likely a new BIOS available for the processor.

What is the component list?

Ryzen 7 2700x has higher power consumption than 1400 bur rhat shouldn't be a problem with your MB and PSU. MBs need BIOS with AGESA 1.0.0.2a code to be compatible with 2x00 processors.

It may be another situation where the OP will need a new processor with the new BiIOS already installed (the Boot Kit).

^ youd like to think he updated while he had the ryzen 1400 in there.

@Shigaba - also you be using the new prism cooler thats supplied with the 2700x.

If you're using the original ryzen 1400 cooler its not good enough.

Take a look at http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-3690690/tweaker-p7h55-bios.html. The op wanted to know why the Asus Ai Tweaker wasn't showing up in the BIOS. Turns out that the motherboard came out in the 2009 - 2012period before Sandy Bridge processors and k processors.

MB just needs newest BIOS, that's all.
RYZEN 5 Pinnacle Ridge YD2600BBM6IAF 2600 7A38v1D.zip is last one according to : https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B350M-BAZOOKA#support-cpu
Without it, it may require the boot kit consisting of "AD9500AGM23AB A6-9500" which AMD provides free of charge and expects it to be returned without the cooler.

Yeah, many situations like that, mostly with second generation of CPUs. ultimately it's sellers responsibility to know abot it and update as advertised.

Hey Guys I was able to put in the old processor and update the bios after the bios update took place I ran into another issue when the Wraith prism was installed. I reverted back to the stock cooler and everything seemed to work fine. I then realized My power supply at 450w was not sufficient. Upgraded to a corsair cx750m and everything is working perfectly now !
