Hey there,

I am looking at building my first custom pc, with a few must have requirements. Such as: Intel core i5, DDR4 16gb, and hard drive/ssd.

I will be using this pc for gaming and video editing on Premiere Pro.

My budget is MAX $1500 AUD, or $1151 USD. I would prefer the budget to be on the side of $1300 AUD, but either is fine.

Any help will be much appreciated.
Kind Regards,
James__

Do you require a monitor? Peripherals? OS?

Since video editing as well, and the new Ryzen 2700x has come out, the 1700, which is still very capable, has had a serious drop in price.

I skipped on SSD due to tight budget and the fact that SSD will not provide any kind of performance increase other than improving load times in games and speeding up file transfer.

This i5-8600 and GTX1070Ti combo will perform around 50%+ better than any GTX1060 combo in games which is a huge gain.

He is video editing on Premiere pro. Ryzen 7 1700 is better than 8600 there.

SSD will help in the loading and saving times of video files, and with this budget should be there if the video is being worked on concurrently.

PSU needs to be better. It is not about whether the system draws that much power; if you are going with a caliber of this system, your PSU should not be compromised on.
